Upcoming Releases: September 2017

upcoming releases september

I feel so honoured presenting you the september young adult releases. So many of my deeply beloved authors are publishing this month. Sarah J. Maas, Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, Adam Silvera, Jay Kristoff, Jennifer L. Armentrout and even Stephanie Perkins. The only one truly missing is John Green but since he's publishing next month I won't even go there. I MEAN LOOK AT THEM. They're stunning, aren't they? All I want to do is cuddle these precious babies. I've heard mixed reviews about all of them, but I'm giving each and every single one a fair chance to impress me. I want to be impressed. It's been so long since I got blown away by a book. This is an excellent month to get back on track. I need to finish my reread of Empire Of Storms, but then I'm all set to dive in. Head first.

Upcoming Releases: August 2017

August dear friends, august. Summer is halfway gone. Or there's still a month to go glass half full, half empty blab. If all is well I'm enjoying the heavenly weather, nature and food baguettes of France at the moment. As always I packed tons of books, but the ones below will have to wait until I return to the reality of a very glum Belgium. Got to say, August has some serious cover porn going on. Luckily there are interesting blurbs as well, because I basically clicked the add buttons based on cover alone. I should really stop doing that but hey what else is new. Most of these books are by authors I don't know very well, which is both exciting and terrifying. An awesome premise doesn't always make for a good book. But since I'm on vacation and the sun is HOPEFULLY, fingers crossed shining, I'm going to be an optimist about this. (Bastille tunes) And we can count on Leigh Bardugo never to disappoint, right? RIGHT? God, she better not. The Wonder Woman movie hyped me up even more so gimme, gimme, gimme! I'm also excited for Renee Carlino's new book. I discovered her last year and I have no regrets.

What are you guys up to this summer? Read anything exciting?

Adam has just been diagnosed with schizophrenia. He sees and hears people who aren’t there: Rebecca, a beautiful girl who understands him; the Mob Boss, who harasses him; and Jason, the naked guy who’s unfailingly polite. It should be easy to separate the real from the not real, but Adam can't. Still, there’s hope. As Adam starts fresh at a new school, he begins a drug trial that helps him ignore his visions. Suddenly everything seems possible, even love. When he meets Maya, a fiercely intelligent girl, he desperately wants to be the great guy that she thinks he is. But then the miracle drug begins to fail, and Adam will do anything to keep Maya from discovering his secret.

Real is subjective. There are a lot of things that aren’t actually real to everyone. Pain, for example. It’s only real to the one experiencing it. Everyone else has to take your word for it.

Upcoming Releases: July 2017

upcoming releases
July has arrived, which means it's the perfect time to make work of that huge tbr-pile in the futile hope it will finally shrink a little. Of course we all know that it won't. Because for every book we read, we will at least add two new ones. Here are a couple of candidates! Unsurprisingly there are some swoon-worthy summer romances, but there is also a fair share of mystery and fantasy. I was surprised to find the second book in the Loom Saga here already! I thought I'd have a bit more time to read the first book. Also definitely excited for Because You Love To Hate Me. I'm really curious to see what this collaboration between some of my favourite authors and a couple of booktubers will bring us. Should be interesting at the very least!

Summer tbr - 2017

Last year I discovered that making a tbr for the summer works very well for me. I didn't entirely complete my list that time, but I never strayed too far and I finally got around to reading books that had been on my radar since... I'd say kindergarten but let's not get too dramatic. In all honesty, it made me read more books than I otherwise would have. I like challenges, can't easily walk away from them. When I truly commit to something, I usually stick with it until the end. One look at all the crappy tv shows I've been watching lately is enough to know I'm right. I'm hoping for a repeat succes. I'm also doing Camp NaNo this year, so my time will be a bit limited but I'm hoping to be successful at both.

Here's my list! Which books are on yours?

June Wrap Up

I can keep this fairly short. June was disastrous. My personal life was a stressful, anxious mess. Which led to me crawling under a rock and just generally avoiding life. (Terrible idea, would not recommend. Comes back to bite you in the ***). So instead of doing anything productive (or reading), I just started bingeing Grey's Anatomy and didn't get off the couch for a while. Seriously, that series is addicting. Makes you put things in perspective too. Suddenly your problems don't seem all that life-threatening anymore.

So as I said, I didn't read at all. I got through about three chapters of Always And Forever, Lara Jean and then gave up. Now that things are getting back on track and work (thank god) is over for a full two months, I'm spending every free minute trying to catch up with every single responsibility I avoided before. Once I'm back on track and the stress leaves my system, I'm going to get back to reading. I've missed it. My summer tbr should be up one of these days and I'm determined to read as many books as possible in the coming eight weeks. I'm back to being optimistic!

I sincerely hope your June experience was better. What did you read? Anything you'd recommend?

Upcoming Releases: June 2017

upcoming releases
My upcoming releases post doesn't really cover that many 'upcoming' books this month. It's more like a past releases post. June hasn't really been great for me, so for all sorts of reasons this is coming a little late. Still the books deserve to be talked about. So here we are! I'm most excited for Our Dark Duet, even if technically I haven't read This Savage Song yet. I am so in love with Victoria Schwab's Shades Of Magic series that this can't be anything but good. This summer I'm reading it! She said confidently.

May Wrap Up

wrap up may 2017
May. How I had been waiting for it to come and how fast it flew past. It should not come as a surprise that ACOWAR was the first book I picked up. I may have mentioned my impatience for its release once or twice try a million in the past year. It was... I don't know. Both the best and worst book of the year, I guess. I haven't gotten around to writing my review. I'm too conflicted. I still don't have full clarity on how I feel about it. There were things I hated, there were things I loved. AJERGHJERG, I'm so frustrated. Luckily there's one thing I'm still a hundred percent positive about: RHYS. More, so much more, on that later.

Pay close attention and you might solve this. On Monday afternoon, five students at Bayview High walk into detention. Bronwyn, the brain, is Yale-bound and never breaks a rule. Addy, the beauty, is the picture-perfect homecoming princess. Nate, the criminal, is already on probation for dealing. Cooper, the athlete, is the all-star baseball pitcher. And Simon, the outcast, is the creator of Bayview High’s notorious gossip app. Only, Simon never makes it out of that classroom. Before the end of detention Simon's dead. And according to investigators, his death wasn’t an accident. On Monday, he died. But on Tuesday, he’d planned to post juicy reveals about all four of his high-profile classmates, which makes all four of them suspects in his murder. Or are they the perfect patsies for a killer who’s still on the loose? Everyone has secrets, right? What really matters is how far you would go to protect them.

upcoming releases may 2017
What is it with May? Seriously, take a look at this list and tell me why all the good ones release in May. Is there a secret pact I don't know off?? Okay, sure, not all the good ones, but sure as hell a whole lot of them! There are so many here I want to read. I for one still can't believe ACOWAR is actually out. Like, I'm holding it in my hands and I still can't. I'm about a hundred pages away from finishing it, I expect my review to be up tomorrow. I've also read a Netgalley-provided arc of Flame In The Mist and I strongly recommend the book to everyone. If you're interested you can read my spoiler-free review here. I'll probably read One Of Us Is Lying next, since I also got an arc-approval. And then? Who knows... There are honestly too many to chose from. Right?

April Wrap Up

wrap up april 2017
Maybe April wasn't the best month when it comes to releases, but I'm happy to say I got a lot more and better reading done this time. I mean, I GOT TO READ A CONJURING OF LIGHT. It was perfect, it was absolutely perfect. I wasn't nearly ready to say goodbye to the squad but this was a good way to do it. Lila, Kell, Rhy & Alucard, I miss you already. Thirteen Reasons Why also (finally) made the cut and I thought it was really intriguing, but as good as it was, it had nothing on the tv show. That one blew my mind. If you havent yet, you should watch it. It's not a fun ride, but it's so important I feel like it should be a mandatory watch to everyone between fifteen and thirty.

upcoming releases young adult april 2017

Ninth of the month, time for another upcoming releases post! Truth be told, I'm not crazy about the novels releasing this month. The Upside Of Unrequited and Red Sister are the only ones I'm truly excited about. The first because it seems painfully relatable, the second because I think it will be badass. Alex, Approximately seems to be a good fluffy read, so that one made it onto my TBR as well. Am I wrong to think the rest is just.. meh?

March Wrap Up

Wrap up march 2017
Hey guys, what's up? March been as hellish a month for you as it was for me? I'm really glad it's over and not only because April starts out with a two-week vacation. You know that book by Sarah Andersen, Adulthood is a myth? Well, I wish. Honestly, I'm not ready to spend all my spare time adulting. It is awful. In between a crazy busy schedule at work and finally dealing with the paperwork of buying my own place (the only part of adulting that makes everything worthwhile), I didn't get any reading done. Not even kidding. I finished Glass Sword and started A Conjuring Of Light and that's it. Keeping up with tv shows was even more dramatic so don't even get me started on that.. Let's hope the worst is out of the way now so that I can get back on track with reading and blogging some more. So enough complaining, on to better things! Here is my very short wrap up. Prepare for a bigger one next month! :)

King's Cage Victoria Aveyard Big Mushy Happy Lump Sarah Andersen

On the plus-side, I didn't buy a single book - whoop whoop! Look at me being all responsible.
