Genre: Fantasy, YA, Romance (?!)
Expected publication: October 6, 2015
Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin
Pages: 384 pages
Synopsis:
Simon
Snow just wants to relax and savor his last year at the Watford School of Magicks,
but no one will let him. His girlfriend broke up with him, his best friend is a
pest, and his mentor keeps trying to hide him away in the mountains where maybe
he’ll be safe. Simon can’t even enjoy the fact that his roommate and longtime
nemesis is missing, because he can’t stop worrying about the evil git. Plus
there are ghosts. And vampires. And actual evil things trying to shut Simon
down. When you’re the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you
never get to relax and savor anything.
Carry On is a ghost story, a love story, a
mystery and a melodrama. It has just as much kissing and talking as you’d
expect from a Rainbow Rowell story, but far, far more monsters.
Why This Book Deserves The Red
Carpet:
I really
had no choice but to put this book in the Spotlight this week, because we got
the cover reveal a few days ago and.. I’M CRAZY EXCITED ABOUT CARRY ON. I have
been since I found out Rainbow Rowell was writing it. Now that the cover is
here, things are getting real and with the publication date set in October, the
book is only a few months away! It was hard to believe this would actually
happen, don’t you think? It’s a story about characters from a story set in
another story. It should be impossible, if you think about it. I’m not sure
this has ever been done before, but I love Rainbow Rowell for taking a chance
on it. I loved the Simon Snow parts in Fangirl.
The story and the characters both. And let’s be honest here, aren’t we all
desperately waiting for the thing to happen? October 6th, mark the
day on your calendar!
